With the support of Innove, Georgia is introducing 300 credit courses in universities


With the support of Foundation Innove and UNICEF the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia is introducing 300 credit courses (BA and MA level programmes) for pre-service training of prospective preschool and general education teachers in universities as of 2018-2019.

Under the framework of this partnership, an extended meeting was held by UNICEF on 30 June 2017, which brought together important stakeholders such as representatives of nine state universities as well as the representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia and the National Centre for Education Quality Enhancement. Participants exchanged the information about current reform initiatives that targets the development of teachers’ pre-service training programmes. During the meeting, all participants agreed about a joint action and time plan for coordinated implementation of priorities with the technical support of Estonian experts to ensure high quality of training curricula and programs that have to be developed by national specialists.

During 3 years, UNICEF Georgia and Foundation Innove support the Georgian Ministry of Education and Science in updating the national curricula for the general education, and initial teacher training programs in eight universities of Georgia. Read additional information about the programme HERE
