PISA (Programme for International Student Assessment survey) evaluates education systems by assessing the knowledge and skills of 15-year-old students in reading, mathematics and science. The survey measures how well students can analyse, reason and apply their skills and knowledge in unfamiliar situations. The survey is held every three years. According to the PISA 2015 survey, Estonian students rank first in Europe and third in the world. The Estonian education system is noted for its high equity – students from all backgrounds have access to high quality education.
