Young Master is a nationwide festival of professional competitions. Young Master brings together various professions with the purpose to introduce and popularize specialties of vocational education and give young people the opportunity to compare their skills.
Innove has been involved in organizing Estonian professional competitions since 2006. Under the title Young Master, the professional competitions have been taking place since 2009, when at the youth information fair Teeviit, competitions of ten different professions were held over two days. In 2013, in addition to the professional competitions in 21 specialties, Estonian institutions of vocational education introduced learning opportunities and workshops offered young people the opportunity to test the techniques of the specialties taught. Since then, it has been a tradition – Noor Meister is not only a series of proffessional competitions, but a festival of vocational education. The number of competitions has grown year by year, and along with it, the participation of schools and visitors has also increased.
In 2018, Noor Meister will take place on May 3th to 4th. This year’s Young Master will bring together the best practices in vocational education, the current and future outputs of skills training, vocational schools, employers, professional associations and professional competitions. The new approach has also given the festival a new name – Young Master, the festival of skills. This year, students will compete in 31 different professional competitions.
