TALIS 2018 builds upon the success of the TALIS 2013 survey, which had a strong focus on school leadership, teachers’ professional environment, teaching conditions and the impact on chool and teacher effectiveness.
The TALIS main survey took place from March to May 2018. From Estonia, 200 schools with school leaders and a little over 3300 teachers were involved. In the 2018 TALIS, the 7th-9th class primary school teachers were surveyed. Principals and teachers completed an 45-minute online survey. The questionnaires examined the professional development of teachers, the assessment and recognition of teachers, teachers’ pedagogical beliefs, practices and attitudes, and school leadership.
Both international and national results will be published in two parts: the first volume of the international report in June 2019 and the second volume in March 2020, the first volume of the national report in September 2019 and the second volume by April 2020 at the latest.
In Estonia, TALIS 2018 is conducted by Innove: talis[ät]innove.ee.
